When You’re Waiting for a Yes: Seeking the Lord’s Confirmation
When You’re Waiting for a Yes: Seeking the Lord’s Confirmation
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
We often want lightning bolts—clear signs, audible voices, or open-and-shut doors. But seeking the Lord’s confirmation is usually more about quiet trust than loud signals.
There’s beauty in learning to walk with the Lord, not just waiting for Him to hand us answers.
Devotional Reflection
When we ask for God’s confirmation, we’re not just asking for approval—we’re asking for alignment. We’re saying: “God, I want Your best, not just my idea of good.”
The problem is, we often seek confirmation after we’ve already made up our minds. We search for signs that agree with our plans instead of surrendering to His.
But Scripture reminds us:
Submit your ways (not just consult Him).
Trust fully (not halfway).
Lean on His wisdom (not your own logic).
God confirms His will through peace, people, His Word, and providential timing. But He doesn’t rush. And sometimes, His confirmation is a quiet “not yet,” a redirection, or a deeper invitation into faith.
Reflection Questions
Am I truly surrendered to God’s will, or just asking Him to bless my plan?
Where might I be rushing instead of resting in God’s process?
Have I invited God into the small decisions—not just the big ones?
Prayer
Lord, I long for Your voice to guide me. Teach me how to recognize Your confirmation—not just in open doors, but in Your peace. Help me surrender my timeline and trust that You see the whole picture. Align my heart to Yours. Amen.
