37 Weeks Pregnant: How to Boost Oxytocin Naturally and Prepare for Labor

Boosting Oxytocin at 37 Weeks Pregnant

Hitting 37 weeks feels like such a milestone — officially full term! I’m feeling pretty uncomfortable these days and more than ready to meet our baby. But I truly believe that the end of pregnancy is one of the most important times to slow down, boost your oxytocin levels, and take really good care of yourself.

Whether that’s staying away from stress, prioritizing rest, or surrounding yourself with things that spark joy, this season is about giving yourself permission to just be and prepare mentally and physically for labor.

Foods That Support Labor Preparation

One of the ways I’m nurturing myself right now is through nourishing foods. I did a little Whole Foods delivery this week, picking up ingredients that are known to naturally boost oxytocin and support the body at the end of pregnancy — things like Medjool dates, raspberry leaf tea, healthy fats from avocado, dark chocolate, and probiotics from yogurt.

Keeping my kitchen stocked with real, wholesome foods makes such a difference in how I feel during these final weeks.

What’s In My Hospital Bag: Comfort Essentials

Nesting has definitely been strong for me this pregnancy. One of the things that brought me a lot of joy was packing my hospital bag — not just throwing in the basics, but really making it feel cozy and personal.

I added some new comfy clothes, my favorite skincare minis from trips earlier this year, and real shampoo and conditioner (because let’s be honest — hospital toiletries don’t exactly spark joy).

None of it is truly essential, but these little touches are a reminder to care for myself and make the experience feel a little more like home.

(I’ll be sharing soon what I packed for the baby too!)
